Chisholm Trail Days Festival Set for Aug. 15-16 at Old Abilene Town

Abilene will host Chisholm Trail Days: Longhorns & Legends on Aug. 15-16, 2026, at Old Abilene Town. The two-day event will feature a Texas longhorn cattle parade through town, Wild Bill Hickok historical reenactments, live music, can-can dancers, food trucks and family activities.

On Sunday, organizers plan to dedicate a new bronze monument honoring Wild Bill Hickok. The ceremony comes approximately two weeks after the 150th anniversary of Hickok's death.

Admission is $5 for attendees ages 6 and older. Children ages 5 and under will be admitted free of charge. A full schedule is available at abilenekansas.org/longhornsandlegends.
