Heat Gives Way to Storm Chances and a Cooler Wednesday in Abilene
Abilene is expected to stay hot and sunny Tuesday before a chance of thunderstorms arrives Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service.
Tuesday's high is forecast near 95 degrees, with a south wind around 10 mph and gusts reaching 20 mph. Showers and thunderstorms become possible Tuesday night, with a 50% chance of precipitation and a low near 68.
Wednesday should bring a noticeable cooldown. A 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected before 11 a.m., followed by partly sunny skies and a high near 83. Wednesday night's low is forecast near 66.
Sunny conditions return Thursday with a high near 86. Friday warms to about 91, with a 30% chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.
The weekend is expected to remain warm. Saturday's forecast calls for a high near 91 and a slight chance of storms before 1 p.m. Sunday should be mostly sunny with a high near 92 and a slight chance of morning rain showers.
Residents should continue to monitor the forecast as storm timing and precipitation chances may change.
