Dickinson County to House Ottawa County Inmates Under New Agreement

The Dickinson County Commission approved an agreement between Dickinson County and Ottawa County for the housing of Ottawa County inmates at the Dickinson County Detention Facility.

Commissioners said the arrangement is a way to make economic use of the county's detention facility. "This is a good way to economically operate our facility, help other facilities and work both directions," one commissioner said.

Commissioners noted the agreement includes an updated fee, and that the sheriff had been consulted on it. The motion to approve the agreement was seconded and passed on a voice vote.
