Sidewalk and concrete work set on Buckeye Avenue over the next 30 days

Sidewalk and concrete work will take place on Buckeye Avenue between the Union Pacific Railroad tracks and NE 4th Street as part of the CCLIP project, the City of Abilene said.

Work is expected to continue over the next 30 days, weather permitting. Crews will work first on the east side, between the Union Pacific Railroad tracks and NE 4th Street, and next on the west side, between NW 3rd and NW 4th streets, according to the city.

The city said drivers and pedestrians should expect temporary disruptions to parking and sidewalk access, watch for workers and follow posted signs.

Contractors will communicate with affected businesses as work progresses, the city said, and it suggested following those businesses on social media or contacting them directly for access updates. Project updates are posted at abilenecityhall.com/679/City-News.
