Harvey Eugene Moritz, of Chapman passed away on October 21, 2026. Born on October 2, 1960, in Wichita, Harvey was the son of James Eugene Moritz and Frances Darlene (Decker) Moritz. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Brenda Sue (Moritz) Manning.
Harvey graduated from Riley County High School in Riley, as part of the class of 1978.
Harvey was rarely one to sit still; always busy working on something. He enjoyed being outside either boating, fishing, attending car shows, or detailing cars himself. He had a special love for classic cars, especially his 1969 Stingray Corvette. Whether he was working on a project, enjoying the outdoors, or cheering on his favorite teams, Harvey found joy in the simple things. But, above all else, his greatest passion was spending time with family and friends and being there to support his grandchildren at their many activities and events. Those moments were what mattered most to him.
Harvey is survived by his wife, Stacy (Munson) Moritz, his daughters, Kera Moreland (husband Nick) of Milford and Casey Moritz (husband Steven) of New York, NY; stepchildren Tanner Rohr (wife Emma) of Olathe and Macie Culp (husband Chris) of Berryton; and seven grandchildren: Kennedy and Lily Moreland; Theodora Bolt; Lucy, Jack, and Charlie Rohr; and Lainey Culp. Harvey is also survived by his sisters Marilyn Ferris (husband Monty) of Wamego, Loretta Fisher (husband Joe), Sandra Barbee (husband Curtis), and brother-in-law Dave Manning, all of Chapman.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 5:00 - 7:00pm at Londeen Funeral Home, 206 W. 5th St., Chapman. Please wear your K-State and Chiefs gear. A service honoring Harvey will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 10:30am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 218 N. Washington Street, Junction City. Harvey wouldn't want to wear a suit, so you shouldn't either; Dressy casual attire is welcome. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather for a luncheon at the Milford Lake Conference Center, 3710 Farnum Creek Road, Milford, to share a meal, memories, and stories in his honor.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Harvey's memory to the Scleroderma Research Foundation, an organization dear to Harvey’s heart that supports research toward finding a cure for scleroderma. Donations can also be made to the Harvey Moritz Memorial at Astra Bank, 1130 N. Marshall St., Chapman, KS 67431.
