Helen M. Rockwell, 85, of Abilene, died October 30, 2026.

She was born April 10, 1941, in Mill Creek, Arkansas, to Eddie and Oma (Shackleford) Gabbard. She owned and operated a restaurant in Alamogordo, New Mexico, for many years. She was married to Robert Rockwell, who died July 30, 2023.

Survivors include her children, Judy (Lisa) Germann of Abilene, Angie (Steve) Petersen of Texas and Kevin (Caron) Germann of New Mexico; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Abilene City Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Abilene Animal Hospital, which may be dropped off or mailed to Danner Funeral Home, 414 NW Third St., Abilene.
