Pamela Sue “Pam” Emig

Pamela Sue “Pam” (Rutz) Emig, 62, died November 3, 2026.

She was born November 2, 1964, to Morris and Geraldine Rutz, the youngest of four children. She graduated from Chapman High School, where she played tennis and softball.

She married Scott Emig on August 31, 1984, and they raised three children: Dusty, Kyle and Shaila. She continued playing slow-pitch softball, swing danced, followed her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, and made crafts and flower arrangements for headstones.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Scott, and her parents, Morris and Geraldine Rutz.

Survivors include her children, Dusty and Jo, Kyle and Ashley, and Shaila and Lacey; grandchildren Vaylen, Dally, Cash, Braxton, Madison, Zoey, Carter, Emerson, Sullivan and Huxley, with a grandchild, Tucker, expected in December; and her siblings, Chris, Danny and Tim.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Danner Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2026, at Danner Funeral Home, with burial in Abilene City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Elsie Brooks Cancer Foundation, in care of Danner Funeral Home, 501 N. Buckeye, Abilene, KS 67410.
